M I N E

Please give me back my pain
It’s mine.

‘You feel so heavy’
‘Your emotions are a lot to deal with’
‘Oh no, you have tears’
‘Why do you feel so much?’
‘Why are you so angry?’

When you see my hurt
My deep core woundings
All I ask of you is to witness and acknowledge
Without offering your solutions
And to please give me back my pain
It’s mine.

Trust that I will reach out to you
When my burden becomes too heavy
I will ask for help to carry it
And for you to hold my tears
Until they evaporate
Yet always,
A l w a y s
Give me back my pain
It’s mine.

Don’t you worry about me
I got this
I know how to ride the storm
In the darkest corners of my soul
And I know when to call for help
When the waters are too deep
Please remember, when I do come up for air
Give me back my pain
It’s mine.

If you feel that you are failing
Failing to take away my hurt
Does that make you feel uncomfortable?
Not good enough
Inadequate
Incompetent
Useless
Please do not put that on me
That is yours.
